Race Classes
|
The Post Classic Racing Association of NSW runs the following race categories at various race meetings held at Eastern Creek, Wakefield Park and Oran Park (GP, north & south configurations). There are specific rules for each category and various capacity classes from ultra light to unlimited race within these categories.

Period 4 Post Classic (1963 - 1972)
Kawasaki H1 500 and H2 750, Suzuki T500, Yamaha TR3, Norton Commando, Triumph Trident, Aermacchi, Bultaco TSS, Laverda SFC and Honda CB750/500 are typical makes and models competing in this category.

Period 5 Forgotten Era (1973 - 1982)
Suzuki RG500, GSX1100 and GS1000, Yamaha TZ250/350/500/750, RD250/350LC, Kawasaki Z1 and Z1R, Ducati 900SS, Honda CB900F and CB1100Rs are typical makes and models competing in this category.

Period 6 New Era (1983 - 1990)
Typical makes and models
New Era Formula 1: Suzuki GSXR1100 Yamaha FZR1000. (NB this is NOT P6 F1000)
P6 0-125 Ultra Lightweight : GP 125s eg RS125
P6 132-250 Lightweight GP 250s eg TZ250 RS250
P6 368cc to 500cc Senior 2 strokes: GP 500s or Production 500s eg RZ/LC500 RG500
P6 368cc to 500cc Senior 4 stroke: eg VFR400
P6 250 production: eg TZr 250, LC250, RGV250, KR-1
P6 F750: GSXR750, FZ750, VFR750, GPX750

Pre Modern (1991 - 1995)
Typical makes and models of Pre Modern Formula 1 bikes competing are Kawasaki ZX7R/ZXR750, Suzuki GSXR750/11000, Yamaha YZF750 and Honda CBR900 and VFR750. Pre Modern Formula 2 typical makes and models include Kawasaki ZXR600, Honda CBR600 and RS250, Yamaha TZ250 and YZF600. Pre Modern Formula 3 motorcycles competing will include Honda RS125 and NSR 250 and VFR400, Yamaha TZ125 and TZR250, Suzuki RGV250 and Kawasaki KR1S 250.

Superlites
Typical superlite (bucket) racers include Honda H100 and CB125/150 and SL125 and CL100, Suzuki GS125 and DR125 and Yamaha DT100, Kawasaki KH100.

Motolites
Typical Motolite (bucket) racers include the Moriwaki MH80R 80cc water-cooled two strokes and Honda RS125 grand prix framed hybrids usually powered by an 85cc water-cooled two stroke or larger capacity four stroke engine.

Sidecars (Post Classic, Forgotten Era, F1 & F2)
Sidecars are a custom built, three wheel motorcycle, carrying a rider and passenger (swinger). Classic & Post Classic Sidecars closely resemble a solo motorcycle with an additional platform added where the modern Formula 1 & 2 Sidecars with enclosed fairings, wide slick tyres and custom chassis are more closely related to open car technology. |
